Miklos Perlus 

With over thirty years of experience in the film and television industry, Mik Believe’s driving force, Miklos Perlus, is a trusted and valued member of the international children’s media industry. Having worked successfully as an actor, screenwriter, developer, show creator, producer and showrunner, Miklos brings a broad and diverse range of experience and expertise to each project.

 

Miklos began his career as an actor on the four-time Primetime Emmy Award winning Avonlea, as well as the hit live-action/animated comedy Student Bodies. He also voiced many animated characters such as Quentin MacLeod on the acclaimed Highlander: The Animated Series and Eric Needles on the animated comedy Sidekick.

 

As a screenwriter, Miklos spent two seasons as a story editor for the ten-time Canadian Screen Award winning Degrassi: The Next Generation where one of his scripts won the coveted Writer’s Guild of Canada Award. He also developed, wrote and acted in the teen drama, Instant Star which was awarded two Canadian Screen Awards.

 

Subsequently, Miklos served as Vice President, Kids and Family for marblemedia where he wrote, developed and produced several award-winning kids’ series including, Splatalot, Open Heart, Hi Opie and Opie’s Home the last of which he Executive Produced as Showrunner. He also served as Executive Producer, Development and Production at Pipeline Studios where he wrote and produced the award-winning preschool series Nina’s World and Mundo Perro, a.k.a Doggy World while overseeing the studio’s development slate.

 

Miklos is married with two sons and is a Professor of Children’s Media at Centennial College in Toronto, Canada.
